Women We Admire: Erin Perkins

Give us four words that describe you:

Resilient, Loyal, Organized, Connector

What was your first job?

I’m honestly not sure, but I had a few jobs when I was a teenager. I worked at the golf course doing landscaping. I was the one who would rake all the bunkers...every single morning! and gardening. Somehow this gardening did not translate as an adult.

What do you do now?

I’m a deaf entrepreneur, online business manager and accessibility educator. I work with my clients to enable them to grow bigger and serve better by taking behind-the-scenes admin work off of their plates. I also advise them on how to create a more inclusive environment for their communities.

I’m also an accessibility educator. I’ve been teaching my clients these simple but incredibly important strategies in order to make their businesses accessible and successful — something I call “successible.”

What are you watching/reading now?

The Boys on Amazon Prime.

What inspires you?

People who truly embody the spirit of community over competition.

What is one intention you have for the next three months?

My intention is to work towards getting certified through IAAP (International Association of Accessibility Professionals), specifically the Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
