Course Overview
While our membership spans 9 time zones, all dates below are listed in EST and GMT. Each session is live, online, and interactive. Please expect about 30-60 minutes of independent pre-work to prepare for each session.
Session 1: Manage Your Inner Critic
Thursday, January 30, 9am - 10:30am EST | 2pm - 3:30pm GMT
Learn a new way to deal with your inner critic. We've all got one: that little voice in our head that tells us we can’t do what we want to do; we're not qualified; not smart enough; not good enough. When we give our Inner Critic too much air time, it can become a part of our identity and can have a detrimental impact on our self worth, reinforcing stereotypes and preventing us from living out our intentions.
The inner critic is, however, there to protect us, and trying to silence it or argue with it is not an effective way to manage it. Instead we need to recognise it, acknowledge its role, and make it an ally in our work to advance our intentions. This session will teach you how to do that, giving you more space to focus on your strengths.
Session 2: Amplify Your Strengths
Thursday, February 13, 9am - 10:30am EST | 2pm - 3:30pm GMT
Do you sense your colleagues don't know what you're capable of? This session will guide you to learn more about your strengths, amplify them, and communicate them effectively.
For a lot of people, but especially women, talking aloud about strengths can feel awkward, or even wrong. We're taught from an early age that we shouldn't brag, show off, or self-promote too much. Often we follow these unwritten rules to our detriment, as managers, peers, and others in our lives may not be able to see our full value and potential if we ourselves are not able to talk about our accomplishments comfortably. So we’ve designed this session to give you the tools to find your strengths, take ownership of them, and share them with grace and conviction.
Session 3: Draft Your Leadership Principles
Thursday, February 27, 9am - 10:30am EST | 2pm - 3:30pm GMT
Leadership Principles are a concise set of 4 to 6 principles that serve as your north star and enable you to lead with conviction, make strategic decisions driven by your values, communicate your unique personal brand, and play a leadership role in your own life. In this session, we will draft and workshop our individualized Leadership Principles based on our values and strengths.
Session 4: Operationalise Your Leadership Principles
Thursday, March 6, 9am - 10:30am EST | 2pm - 3:30pm GMT
For Leadership Principles to be useful, we need to learn how to operationalize them in our daily lives. This session will strengthen your ability to communicate and demonstrate your personal brand and your leadership style while we refine our Leadership Principles and learn how to put them to work for us.
Session 5: Next Steps and Commitments
Thursday, April 3, 2024, 9am - 10:30am EST | 2pm - 3:30pm GMT
Taking place one month after our previous session, this final session is designed to enable you to consolidate your learning, review and refine your leadership principles, and set commitments for your pathway forward.
