Announcing My Big New Thing
So I’ve done a rather momentous thing. For years I have dreamed of having my own space to be able to gather people for transformational learning, growth, and healing experiences. Over the years that I have been running my coaching practice and Tide Risers, I have found some wonderful spaces within which to do our work (like the Bellport Inn!) but I’ve always wanted to be able to create my own space that could bring together the range of skill-building and leadership development activities that I have found to be the most powerful transformational experiences for my clients.
I have finally found that place, and I am so delighted to get to share it with you today. Just last week my husband, James, and I purchased a beautiful 16th-century manor house called Shore Hall. Situated on 22 acres of idyllic English countryside, Shore Hall is a Grade II listed property with extensive residential accommodations and a stables, a meditation center, an outdoor heated pool and a poolhouse, and more. We’ve got acres of stunning formal gardens, orchards, paddocks, groves, and a formal vegetable garden that I can’t wait to get my hands dirty in.
Did I mention the stables? Working with the accomplished equestrian Arron Stevenson, I’ll have the opportunity to make Equine Facilitated Learning experiences available to my clients.
Equine-Facilitated Learning is an experiential learning process that involves an individual working alongside a horse under the guidance of a trained coach to do the self-reflection and deliberation that is common within coaching contexts. Over the thousands of years that horses have lived alongside humans, they have adapted to very accurately reflect back to us our emotions and energy. Horses effectively provide insight into our mindset, demeanour, and behaviour, and when facilitated by a trained coach, can provide an extraordinary learning experience.
If you’d like to learn more about the benefits of Equine Facilitated Learning, here’s an interesting bit of research.
I am also excited to enable my clients to indulge in forest bathing, massage and Reiki treatments, pony cuddles, and just sitting on the patio watching the sheep graze. (Yes, there will be sheep!)
So, we will be moving the location of our upcoming Tide Risers retreat taking place in June to Shore Hall. As much as I was looking forward to introducing you all to Arron’s beautiful Dodderhill Equestrian Centre, she has agreed to help me test-run our facilities at Shore Hall by bringing her herd of horses over so we can work with them for our retreat! A huge thank you to Arron for your ongoing support and partnership, and also your enviable horse-trailer driving skills!
And also a huge thank you to all of you for all of the support and encouragement you have given me over the years. Shore Hall fulfills a life-long dream and I never would have had the confidence to make such a huge leap without all of your support and encouragement.
