Rising the Tide in Philadelphia and San Francisco
I am thrilled to share the news that Tide Risers will be expanding to two new locations in January 2019: Philadelphia and San Francisco!
When I founded Tide Risers just last year, I never would have imagined it would grow this quickly. It is now clear to me that Tide Risers is providing women with something that was both necessary and lacking. Our members have benefitted from our monthly UnstickHer sessions, designed to help women get up and out of whatever loop is holding them in place. They have thrived in a diverse community of female leaders all working to help make the world a better place. And they have stretched themselves and grown as a result of our commitment to uplift one another and hold one another accountable for our audacious dreams.
What happens when a hyper-connected woman finds something new that improves her life? She talks about it with her people. That seems to be what has happened for us. Word has spread about Tide Risers and the impact it can have for women. I have had the wonderful privilege of meeting and working with an extraordinary group of Tide Risers Facilitators who lead our cohorts and make up our Leadership Team. I couldn't be more proud to introduce the two newest members of our team:
Marion Biglan
Marion Biglan is the Tide Risers Facilitator for Philadelphia, PA. Marion is a coach, collaborator and community builder who loves her adopted city of Philadelphia. Marion coaches mission-driven leaders and consults with education and social-impact organizations through her business, MHBiglan Consulting, and through a collaborative she co-founded called Talent Impact Partners.
Marion brings to her practice over two decades of experience in education and human capital, starting as a 5th grade teacher through Teach For America, then launching Teach For America’s Chicago region as the founding executive director. Marion furthered her passion for people work when she became a founding member of Teach For America’s Human Assets team, where as Vice President of People Partners, she led the team of internal consultants and coaches who supported managers and senior leaders on management and leadership development, staff culture and performance, diversity and inclusiveness, change management, and talent recruitment.
Marion is passionate about continuing her journey to learn and foster racial justice in her community and all areas of her life. She is a certified coach through Coach Diversity Institute, and co-founder of a network of women who come together to build deeper relationships across race called Women in Community. Marion lives in the Philadelphia region with her husband and two children, and is on the board of Cheltenham School District’s United Parents Group and the Friends of Bache-Martin School.
