Tips and Tricks: From Intentions to Celebrations

A few weeks ago, I led a Tide Risers workshop designed to help you create meaningful, actionable intentions. If you missed it, you can now view it here. If you did attend, and you set intentions for yourself, now’s the time to start celebrating your achievements.

Here’s a quick guide:

  1. Review your intentions. Remember, intentions reflect how we want to BE, not what we want to DO.

  2. Consider how you will recognize when you have met one of your intentions. Intentions are not goals with specific measurable outcomes, which means you'll have to pay closer attention to witness your accomplishments. Be sure to give yourself credit even for the little gains.

  3. Keep a daily journal of intentions you have met. This is like having a ‘done’ list instead of a ‘to-do’ list; it gives you the credit you are due for all of your many accomplishments, even if they might not be visible to others.

  4. Celebrate yourself when you have met an intention. And if you're a member of Tide Risers, share your accomplishment with us in our #celebrations channel in Slack.
