Making Authentic Connections

We have to work a bit harder to make authentic connections.

Have you felt lately that you've been talking all day long, but not actually connecting with anyone? The two-dimensional Zoom life many of us are living can feel as soulless as it is draining.

When we had to make the shift from the in-person sessions for which Tide Risers is known to online sessions, we had to do a lot of work to figure out how to recreate the sense of warm, personal, fulfilling connection we all need to grow and thrive. There are a number of tricks we have employed but one of the most important has been coaching our members to use their active listening skills, especially when it comes to asking curious questions.

While this practice is built into our curriculum, you can employ this skill in your own life when you're having personal and professional conversations. Give yourself the challenge of learning something new about a friend, colleague, or family member. Check out my tips and tricks to guide you!
